Black Rose Rise is a support group curated for those who have endured traumatic experiences; in order to help them find beauty in their darkness, overcome their challenges, find purpose in their pain, and rise from grief to triumph. I created Black Rose Rise, because I always needed a space to go to, to become better. I never really found just one space that was everything I needed - so I created that one space. Black Rose Rise is healing; we are a community. Black Rose Rise is Restoration and Redemption; we are Transformation. Black Rose Rise is a network of champions who defeat every obstacle and rise above life's disappointments, losses, and struggles.
Our mission is to provide a safe space where members can learn how to heal from dark times and receive guidance that leads them to triumph.
We envision a future of shining individuals whose light is so bright - it’s contagious. This light comes from a true sense of knowing – knowing oneself, knowing one’s purpose, and knowing God. Understanding the purpose for our pain, propels us to our highest peaks. We work to help all who are connected to us, overcome fear, doubt, depression, and mental hinderances - in order to truly live the life that fulfills them in every way.
I see Black Roses as beautiful. Some may say that Black Roses symbolize death. I see The Black Rose as being unique and elegant. I see it as "finding beauty in the darkness". My perspective on death is also different. Spiritually, I have died to many things; I have died to my own old lusts and desires. I have died to my old habits and addictions. I have died to deceit, manipulation, and greed. To die is to give up, to let go, in order to transform or evolve into something greater. In order for a flower to grow, the seed must go underground into the darkness and vanish, and the flower lives. The same as for a caterpillar and a butterfly. One must die in order for the other to live. Our routines, habits, thoughts, and beliefs often die so that we may transform into something greater. There’s so much beauty in the process and in the progress. The beauty of the process is what Our Black Rose Rise Group is. We embrace our darkness, identify our light, and we build together. Thank you for joining us.
Black Rose Rise serves those who have experienced dark, traumatic, life-changing events; we also serve anyone looking for true transformation.

After using Black Roses to create outfits and home decor, I was inclined to research the meaning of The Black Rose. I saw descriptions such as: death, elegance, or poise. I was deeply drawn to The Black Rose, its beauty and mystique. I reflected night and day on more and more ways I could use Black Roses in my designs. I heard an internal voice say, "there is beauty in darkness". I began thinking about what the darkness represents, and how much is created in darkness. I thought about the womb and the 40-week gestational period. We are submerged in order to develop. This is the same with fruit, certain animals, and insects. My mind was fixated on the transformations that happen in darkness. Transformation is a beautiful concept and process.
My attention then shifted to the "death" aspect of The Black Rose. I do a lot of Grief Counseling, primarily due to the amount of grief I have publicly overcome. Everyone always asks how I made it, and I always answer. My step-by-step processes evoke healing. Grief is not always attached to the loss of a loved one. Grief can be attached to the loss of a relationship, a divorce, losing a job; any abrupt disconnect from someone or something you are used to can cause grief. Where there is grief, healing is needed. Thus, rather than perceiving The Black Rose as death; The Black Rose is an opportunity for healing.
I reference my own Redemption Story because it is the perspective and experiences that I teach from. In my journey, I realized that one of the most important components is: community. There is Always More Room Out Than In. Having someone to talk to, to relate to, to cheer for, to communicate with - lightens the load. It also lights up our path.
For this reason, I chose Black Rose Rise. Not only are we seeing beauty in the darkness, but we are rising from that darkness. We are taking our pain, finding its purpose, and using our experiences to propel us to the best version of ourselves. We are Beauty. We are Purposeful. We Are Rising.
Again, I Welcome You.
